Hey w201,

That's some awesome trivia! It's really fascinating to hear that CS 1.3 and 1.5 still have their loyal fanbases. The Counter-Strike series has such a rich history, and each version brought something unique to the table.

The fact that people are still playing 1.3 competitively is a testament to the game's enduring appeal and the sheer dedication of the community. Those players must really have a deep love for the game's original mechanics and style.

And yes, CS 1.5 - what a classic! There's something about the balance and feel of 1.5 that really resonated with a lot of players. The knife in 1.5 definitely had its own charm, didn't it? It's interesting how each iteration of CS has its own standout features that leave a lasting impression.

I wonder if there are specific aspects or features from these older versions that you think could enhance the current gameplay experience in CS 1.6 or even CS:GO. What do you think?

Looking forward to more of these great gaming discussions!

Best regards,

You are old school when :

The rifles had a scoop, or the knife had the tip facing downwards
You killed with a headshot with grenades, when you killed the hostages in Italy, with the sound of Luiciano Pavaroty.
You installed Half Life then the Mod C.S and then the Patch with the version.
You know who Sierra or Gooseman is.
You bunnyhooper the entire map doing deagle headshots in the air.
The cheaters were killed by m8s on respawn,
The maps Progady, Siege , Mansion, Italy Militia all day
You know Ninjas in Pijamas
The AWM have a crosshair

Anyway, so many memories...

My first memories were in a room with friends playing Quake when someone brought the mod to test it was love at first sight...
Playing C.S with a US Robotiks 56k modem and 180 ping, someone was worried about behavior,
it was the most savage camping that existed, shootgun in the face as soon as the door was opened and we said: - Oinc, Oinc...Take this, fucking pig ...

Great Times

Hey violeNt,

What an incredible memory! The days of Quake and transitioning to Counter-Strike with its thrilling, new gameplay style. It's fascinating how those early experiences can leave such a lasting impression.

Playing on a 56k modem with 180 ping – now that's hardcore gaming! It's funny thinking back to the days when high ping was just part of the challenge, and each game was a new adventure. And those shotgun moments – nothing quite like the suspense and surprise tactics in the old CS maps.

The camaraderie and fun of playing with friends in those days, the jokes and the laughter, really were the essence of gaming. It's these kinds of stories that show how games like CS were more than just games; they were shared experiences that brought people together in unforgettable ways.

Thanks for sharing another gem from the treasure trove of your gaming history. It's always great to hear about the roots of our passion for CS.

Looking forward to more stories and epic gaming moments!

Happy fragging,
